Fighting crime ‘Stonewall & Riot’ style
An interview with resident artist Joe Phillips
Crime fighting has never been so hot, thanks to San Diego artist Joe Phillips’ all new X-rated anime, Stonewall & Riot. This highly anticipated full-length animated cartoon is finally ready for the masses.
Stonewall & Riot follows the titular crime-fighting duo as they take on villainous characters throughout the city. Instead of battles, however, S&R engage in extremely hot sex scenes in order to keep the peace. Intrigued?
We had the opportunity to talk with Phillips about his newly-released feature.
Rocket: In a few sentences, tell Rocket readers what they can expect from your brand-new release, Stonewall & Riot.
Joe Phillips: Action, comedy and sex! And the best 3-D animation gay porn has ever produced.
Rocket: How does S&R compare to your previous animation, Tales from the House of Morecock?
JP: Stonewall & Riot is an action adventure, full-length movie, where as Morecock was originally a serialized Web cartoon. Plus S&R is a completely new style of animation.
Rocket: Are the characters Stonewall and Riot based off of real people? How about any of the villains?
JP: Yes! S&R and other characters are based off of gay archetypes, and the villains are based off gay sex slang. Like Chickenhawk is our version of Hawkman, and the French Tickler is our version of the Joker.
Rocket: Who’s your favorite character from S&R, and why?
JP: I like them all. Each character represents some aspect of my personality.
Rocket: Do you voice any of the characters? How did you select the voices?
JP: I voice Stonewall, the Flame and Bondage Fairy. All of my friends have unique vocal characteristics, and from them they helped me develop characters based off their voice talents. Like my friend Tug James from the popular bar Rich’s provided several voices as well as acted out scenes for motion reference.
Rocket: Is this “action” movie predominantly sex or is there a developed plot?
JP: There is definitely a strong plot to carry the movie, but there is a lot of hot sex as well!
Rocket: As an artist, what medium do you prefer? What can we expect to see next from Joe Phillips?
JP: As a medium, the simplicity of a pencil and a piece of paper can be the foundation for my thoughts and ideas. Expect to see more movies, as well as the return of my dress-up magnets and line of books and calendars.
