Rocket DJ
DJ Alexander
L.A.-based DJ Alexander will be manning the decks at Rocket’s one-year anniversary party, taking place Friday, May 26, from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at Rich’s.
He incorporates new and classic tracks into his richly textured, multi-layered sound, which can be described as a mix of house, tribal, hip-hop and Latin rhythm – always leaving room for a few surprises. He also spends time in the recording studio, producing the same high-energy mixes that he brings to his live shows.
Surrounded by music from an early age, this Cuban-born turntable master was already learning the ropes as a DJ in L.A. by the age of 19. He began his first residency at Circus Disco, where he worked for three years and developed a loyal following.
He’s had the opportunity to open for and/or spin with DJs such as Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer, Paulo, Manny Lehman, Tracy Young, Tony Moran and Hex Hector, and has performed at Resolution at the Mayan Theater and at Vision at Avalon. In addition to spinning at numerous Pride festivals and events, he’s performed at venues up and down the West Coast, including Club Montage in San Diego, Palladium in San Francisco, Ego and Reflex in L.A., Heaven in Palm Springs and the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
He currently holds residencies at Mars Afterhours in L.A. and Adonis in San Francisco, and he’ll be spinning at Bacchus House this summer on Saturday, July 1. Don’t miss it!
